Here is quick made quide to world of 2.6b.
Just follow the steps and soon you can play those both most popular versions of ET


Download the 2.60 patch from http://returntocastlewolfenstein.filefr ... dows;39483

To install it, double click the application and start the installation wizard.

You need to change the installation path to the directory you chose. Example C:\Program Files\Wolfenstein

To check if this has worked, run the new copy of the game you made and open the console. It should say ET 2.60 to the right.


Now we need to patch 2.60 into 2.6b.

Download the 2.60b patch http://games.softpedia.com/get/Patch/Wo ... atch.shtml

Unpack the file and put them into your new Enemy Territory directory where the current ET.exe is.
It will ask if you want to overwrite the current files, click yes.

Start the game through running ET.exe and check the console for version info, you should have a patched version of ET now.


You will probably need to update punkbuster in order to play.

Go into your patched directory and open the pb folder.
Run pbweb. This will download missing files into your pb folder.
It will close when its done but keep opening it to make sure you get everything.
When pb is fully updated you can start playing.

Then you have it, 2.6b, only now you can't play version 2.55 anymore.
Well, that problem is easy to solve:

Usually you need to download another ET or patch selector to play on both versions(2.55 and 2.6b). Well, you dont need them and everything will be more easier with ET Starter Pro.

No, everytime you wanna change version (examble from 2.55 to 2.6b), just open your ET Starter Pro and select the version you want to play.

you can play .55 and .6b also without ETstarter pro simply like this:
install .55 in C:\Program Files\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory (standard location)
install .6b other location prefer other partition. (create map and name it to .6b and install .55 in there then patch it to .6b and start it from that folder with the switched et.exe file from .6b
