GDC Rules |
If people want to get recruited:
They must register at forum first, and make an application, then they can put the R| in their name, this way the R represents what we like to call Registered. That way they are already registered, and we know something about them. They need 6k xp to join, not 3. They need to be active at that time, each recruiter will be given a certain player to keep a watch of, that way that recruiter knows if he's been playing regularly, have an accuracy of approximately 30. And a kill death ratio of 2/1. The recruiter must make sure that the player knows all the rules, and that they know people in the clanbase.
The recruiter must immediately go post at the server base's roster updates.
What not to do.
1) Not posting updates in roster updates or anywhere on board. If person is not on the roster, they will be set back to 1 and tags removed. You get a disciplinary action from Owners or Leader. Demotion if continued!
2) Not speccing and just putting them 3 = a disciplinary action from Leaders, Owners. Demotion if continued!
A good candidate for recruiting is someone who is not only a good player, but is mature, personable, active on both the server and the forums, and respectful to the pubbers and members.
Promotions
Level 3 to 4
A member of level 3 can only be promoted if they have 20k xp at least, they need way more to get promotion, but that is the least amount of xp. They need many qualities like experience, activeness, helpful, enforces rules, even if they do not have admin, qualities that show they have been in the clan long enough to know all the requirements.
Level 4 to 5
The member has had to be in the clan for at least a month to be promoted to this level, they also need to show that they are much more than just a level 3 member. They have the makings of a Leader
Level 5 to 6
They basically have to be leaders, but in training, they have had to be in the clan for 3 weeks after they have been promoted to recruiter. They are chosen by owners, after owners believe that they are ready and have earned it.

1. Keep posts reasonable and clean.
HAC Board as well has rules made by Leighton, that must be followed. You can read them here.
Do not make any extreme anti-social comments like racial slurs or gay bashing.
We understand that people play around. Keep it within limits.Since it’s a touchy thing we will not give you a physical warning. We will give you a private warning through pm explaining what the limits are.
Blatantly extreme racist comments will be deleted and depending on how extreme the comment is you will be dealt with accordingly.
No obscene media is to be posted or linked. Again we know sometimes it’s hard to know what can and cannot be posted. No nude or racist pictures or video. Grotesque and humorous media is permitted as long as it’s in line.
Again depending on how bad the media is we will give you a private warning before taking action.
If you don't agree with something, say so politely. Do not start bashing someone because you have a different opinion.
Whining is also not permitted.
Do not make one or two word posts, again: Make sure you think about your post.
Have meaningful posts, not just 'WTF' or 'LOL', make sure you think about your post.
2. Be smart. Be nice to each other.
Please keep all criticism constructive.
Don’t make up any stupid reasons.
Not everyone here is on the same level. Please be aware of this when replying. Don’t assume someone is dumb or stupid. A 19-year-old posting and making fun of a 12 year old for not knowing what the post meant is not acceptable.
Please offer the respect you think you deserve to the other posters.Try to be nice to each other. Any member instigating a fight will be punished accordingly. If you feel you have been offended you should PM the admin explaining why. Going back and forth with a user will land you both banned.
Insulting a member of this family depending how severe will earn you a warning.
If your topic was deleted for inappropriate material do not make another topic asking why it was deleted.
Creating New Topics:
1. Please do not make duplicate active topics.
Make sure to read topics before you go on making a new exact one.
2. Please direct your topic to the appropriate section of the forum.
Each section of the forums has a purpose. Create a new topic in the appropriate forum.
3. Keep it logical.
New topics should mean something. Any topics that we feel are a waste of space and are just plain dumb can and will be moved to basket without notice.
1. When replying to topics please keep your reply's on topic.
Do not steal topics and change the topic. You may go off topic to make points regarding the main topic. No spamming, spamming counts as posting in every topic, without any meaning, just to raise post count.
No multiple posting.
2. Do not make replies to inactive topics.
A topic is inactive if the last post is more than 1 week old. Do not make a reply to inactive topics. Instead, create a new topic. You can however make reference to the inactive topic.
3. Do not make multiple consecutive posts.
Do not make one post after another in the same topic. If you made a post and you want to change or add to that comment, when nobody has posted below that post, then edit the post. Do not make one post and then a subsequent second post where nobody has replied.
Fail to Follow any of the forum rules will result in:
1st warn=Pm to rule breaker
2nd Warn=3 day ban
3rd warn=1 week ban
4th warn=Permanent ban

1. Respect everyone on the server. All players come here to have fun and not to be abused. Respect
the admins on the server, they're here to ensure pleasure and fair gaming for all so if an admin asks
you to do something, please comply.
2. Don't get into discussions using global chat. This is a game server and not a chatsite. If you need
to discuss something, use X-Fire or another chat enabled program or use pm (type in console: /m name message).
3. Don't abuse other ET players so no excessive trash talking or swearing. Sexist or racist
comments are not allowed. The game is meant to be fun so don't get carried away and take it too seriously.
4. Don't spam the game with text or voice. Don't annoy your fellow players calling for a medic 20 times in a row.
5. Don't use a sexist, racist or homophobic name.
6. Try to make the games fun for everyone and switch teams if needed. No spawnkilling and
no spawncamping. Fairplay won't hurt you and will make it more fun for the others, too.
7. No selfkilling in a fight. ( only if you want to change classes)
8. Don't use an aimbot, wallhack or other cheats.
9. No walljumping or glitching.
10. Be nice to visiting players. If they have any questions try to answer them.
11. Please fix your ping if it is too high.
12. No killing from TJ positions.
13. Only English in main chat.

Botting:
First, we all know there are people that cheat in this game. Botters ruin the game with unfair advantages. There are many types of bots some are obvious some aren't. If someone has an obvious bot then first: PM the person and kindly ask them to turn off the cheats. Wait about a minute and if they continue to bot without a response, then warn them officially to stop botting. If this fails to get their attention and they continue to cheat then kick them. If they come back and continue to cheat then ban them for 1 hour (3600s). If, after the hour they continue to come back and continue to bot then ban them permanently. We should not ban people permanently for first offenses. If you suspect a botter/wallhack and you are not entirely sure kindly ask another member to spec the person in question. If the person in question is not obviously a botter most likely he is just a good player and should be left alone. No member should ever accuse a person of botting in public chat. Take it to PM before you are completely sure that that person is in fact a cheater. On a personal note I've asked some people to try out our servers that I have known for a while to be good players and skilled players, one told me they were banned permanently and they weren't even told that they were being accused or that someone though they were cheating. This is unacceptable and reflects poorly as a clan and reflect poorly on me directly for having admins that ban people for being good players.
If a member is caught cheating then they will be banned mandatory for 1 week (604800s) and possibly lose admin lvl(s) depending on severity of the offense. If a member is caught a second time then they will be expelled from the clan and their IP and GUID will be banned from all servers and will be banned from the forums as well. Cheating will not be tolerated by members.
Transfer Rules
We noticed that many people transfer to another server and a few days later they go back to their original server.
They should think of the consequences before. we should make our transfer rules more strict, so people cant change the clan base so easily.
- A transfer is only permitted after a duration of 3 weeks in one clan base
- No promotion is permitted within the next week
- Person transferring is to be demoted one level
Double Clanning
First, double clanning does happen. You shouldn't assume people are double clanning. First give them the benefit of the doubt. If someone connects to the server with another name and has a GDC admin, first talk to them. Ask them if they quit the clan. If they say yes simply remove their level and set them to lvl for pubbers. Thats all you should do, if they are honest then there are no other actions needed. Sometimes brothers or even father and sons share a computer. When I (Slow) was in G!X there was a player Manno. Sometimes he would connect as {PG} Manno he said it was his father. So instead of banning him I did some investigating and I found {PG} Manno was in fact his father. I concluded this just by watching him, he was a lot better than the G!X Manno. Sometimes its just easier to ban a person, but a good admin will not make rash decisions, before all the facts are on the table.
If, infact it has been proven the person in question is doubleclanning, and is being deceiving then you may ban them after stripping their admin. Same names is not sufficient proof. If there is a Killer in GDC and a Killer in G!X chances are they are not the same person. Proof such as a conversation or another clan corroborating is best. IP and GUIDs also, but that may be difficult to come by.

Login and Registration Issues |
There are several reasons why this could occur. First, ensure your username and password are correct. If they are, contact the board owner to make sure you haven’t been banned. It is also possible the website owner has a configuration error on their end, and they would need to fix it.
You may not have to, it is up to the administrator of the board as to whether you need to register in order to post messages. However; registration will give you access to additional features not available to guest users such as definable avatar images, private messaging, emailing of fellow users, usergroup subscription, etc. It only takes a few moments to register so it is recommended you do so.
If you do not check the Log me in automatically box when you login, the board will only keep you logged in for a preset time. This prevents misuse of your account by anyone else. To stay logged in, check the box during login. This is not recommended if you access the board from a shared computer, e.g. library, internet cafe, university computer lab, etc. If you do not see this checkbox, it means the board administrator has disabled this feature.
Within your User Control Panel, under “Board preferences”, you will find the option Hide your online status. Enable this option with Yes and you will only appear to the administrators, moderators and yourself. You will be counted as a hidden user.
Don’t panic! While your password cannot be retrieved, it can easily be reset. Visit the login page and click I’ve forgotten my password. Follow the instructions and you should be able to log in again shortly.
First, check your username and password. If they are correct, then one of two things may have happened. If COPPA support is enabled and you specified being under 13 years old during registration, you will have to follow the instructions you received. Some boards will also require new registrations to be activated, either by yourself or by an administrator before you can logon; this information was present during registration. If you were sent an e-mail, follow the instructions. If you did not receive an e-mail, you may have provided an incorrect e-mail address or the e-mail may have been picked up by a spam filer. If you are sure the e-mail address you provided is correct, try contacting an administrator.
Attempt to locate the e-mail sent to you when you first registered, check your username and password and try again. It is possible an administrator has deactivated or deleted your account for some reason. Also, many boards periodically remove users who have not posted for a long time to reduce the size of the database. If this has happened, try registering again and being more involved in discussions.
COPPA, or the Child Online Privacy and Protection Act of 1998, is a law in the United States requiring websites which can potentially collect information from minors under the age of 13 to have written parental consent or some other method of legal guardian acknowledgment, allowing the collection of personally identifiable information from a minor under the age of 13. If you are unsure if this applies to you as someone trying to register or to the website you are trying to register on, contact legal counsel for assistance. Please note that the phpBB Group cannot provide legal advice and is not a point of contact for legal concerns of any kind, except as outlined below.
It is possible the website owner has banned your IP address or disallowed the username you are attempting to register. The website owner could have also disabled registration to prevent new visitors from signing up. Contact a board administrator for assistance.
“Delete all board cookies” deletes the cookies created by phpBB which keep you authenticated and logged into the board. It also provides functions such as read tracking if they have been enabled by the board owner. If you are having login or logout problems, deleting board cookies may help.

Just some hints when you have pb problems:
1. Do /pb_cvarlist and make sure after everything there stands a =OK! If not, just change the cvar (FAST) Make sure you don't use any tweak cvars
2. To get a etkey:
Try /pb_cdkeyreg
3. PB kicks (Try first things above)
Run ET in Administrator mode (Right mouse on ETicon, Run as administrator)
4. Update by yourself pb
Update: http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php
FAQ: See post 2
5. PB Inadequate O/s Privileges Message
http://www.punksbusted.com/wiki/index.p ... es_Message
6. Worsest case scenario
Email punkbuster: support@evenbalance.com
Why does PunkBuster kick me for INIT FAILURE?
Usually, this message means your PB is not working properly. You should run our PBSetup program to make sure your PB is up to date.
However, we have recently discovered that some broadband routers routinely drop OOB (Out of Band) packets for no apparent reason. Since all PB packets are OOB, these routers can actually block PB's communication (again for no apparent reason). To determine if the router is the cause of this problem for you, remove the router and connect directly to the internet. If you are able to play this way, then the cause is very likely the router.
Based on user feedback, the following router brands/models are reported to have problems. Not necessarily all models of a brand might be affected, and the list is in no way complete but it can give you a few hints. Also, we do not claim that our list below shows the only solution to fix your issue, nor that it will fix it for sure even though it has worked for others. It could very well be that changing some settings in your router could help as well. Contacting the company directly might help you as well.
* Linksys - possible solution: Use firmware 1.44.2
* Motorola - possible solution: Update to latest firmware
* Netgear - possible solution: Disable SPI (statefull packet inspection)
I downloaded Enemy Territory and do not have a CD or CDKey ... why do I sometimes see messages about a CDKey?
When playing Enemy Territory over the Internet on PunkBuster enabled servers, PunkBuster will automatically generate a CDKey for you. Most problems with CDKeys in Enemy Territory are caused by copying the game from one computer to another instead of installing from scratch. You can press the tilde key (the ~ key) to bring down the console inside the game and enter the command "/pb_myguid" (without the quotes) and PunkBuster will display your CDKey and the PunkBuster GUID which is used to identify players.
How do I enable PunkBuster?
At the game's main screen, press your tilde key (the ~ key) to bring down the console. Then type in this line (without the quotes): "/pb_cl_enable". You should see text displayed showing the PB Client version number and also saying that PB is now Enabled. If not, you should reinstall the latest game update patch and make sure that PunkBuster is installed as part of that patch update installation.
Why doesn't my PunkBuster Client work even though everything is installed properly?
Check the fs_homepath game cvar from the game console (enter "\fs_homepath"). Then, using the explorer program on your computer, verify that the path pointed to by fs_homepath does in fact have a "pb" subfolder that includes at least these three files: pbsv.dll, pbcl.dll and pbag.dll (or pbsv.so, pbcl.so, and pbag.so on Linux systems). If not, then either locate and copy the "pb" folder from your game installation into the fs_homepath location, or change the fs_homepath cvar to point to your game installation. Note that the "pb" folder must have read and write permissions. We realize this can be a tricky topic.
How can I turn off PunkBuster Messages?
By default, PunkBuster outputs to both the top of the playing screen and also to the game console. If you want to prevent PunkBuster from sending output to the playing screen, add [skipnotify] to the beginning of your pb_msgprefix setting (see the Settings section on our online PB for Players manual for more info). Output will only be sent to your game console in this case.
KING_TURKEY submitted his solution to me:
Please get the PB service component installer PBSVC from this URL:
http://www.evenbalance.com/downloads/pbsvc/pbsvc.exe
Save it to your desktop. You will need to start it with Admin rights.
On Windows Vista just being logged in as Admin is not enough. To
start the file with Admin rights on Vista, select the PBSVC executable
and right click it. Select "Properties", then the "Compatibility" tab.
From that tab, check the box labeled "Run this program as an
Administrator" and click OK.
Follow the install process and make sure it installs correctly.
After that you will be able to play the game without the need of Admin
rights. You only need to follow these steps only once (not for every PB
supported game and not on each game start).
Please make sure you allow the service files in security software
like virus scanners and/or firewalls. You will need to allow/unblock
the services PnkBstrA.exe and PnkBstrB.exe from your
"C:\Windows\system32\" (or "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\" on 64bit systems)
folder. In case of doubt, manually add both to your firewall's allow
list. After the installation process you will only find PnkBstrA, so
just make sure this process file is not blocked. Then try playing on a
PB enabled server, in case of a kick, check if PnkBstrB was created and
unblock it too.
For more information on the PB service components refer to our FAQ:
http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=pbsvcfaq.php

Job Description
Recruiters-To make it to this level, there are many qualities needed. Recruiters are here to recruit in a proper manner, to recruit in the process given. Their job is not concerning themselves with hackers, aimbotters, wallhackers. It's with making sure we get fresh new faces(Players), in our clan. Enforcing the rules, so that anyone knows where they are, and also having a link of the Rules/Guidelines base to show where the rules are at. If there are no admins above recruiters then they may take action against a rule-breaker, having screenshots and demos of course, only to warn and kick. Forumwise, post the people they have recruited. They may only promote up 3 only. May not kick out any member.
Co-Leaders-To make it to this level, even more many qualities needed. Co-leaders are trainee leaders, their job is to enforce the rules, help out members, and to help leaders make decisions. They can assist recruiters in their job, if their is a leader in the server. Co-leaders are not to be making decisions on their own, they can warn, kick, ban a rule-breaker if needed, with given evidence. On forums they should be updating roster. Co-leaders may only promote up level 4. May demote to level 3 with permission of leader.
Leader-To make it to this level, much more qualities needed. Leaders are the face of the server, they should be doing more than anyone, monitoring the server, answering questions from members, helping recruiters and co-leaders with any problems. Make sure that there are no hackers, aimbotters, wallhackers, and rulebreakers, enforce the rules and have evidence for any ban they do, after a warn, kick. Be the example for lower admins, and making sure the other admins are doing their job efficiently. Can help recruit if there is no recruiter present, otherwise stick to their job. Forumwise they should update roster, keep boards clean, manage forum.
Leaders may promote up level 5.May demote to level 3 with permission from owner.
Owner-Pay for ownership viewtopic.php?f=3&t=940
Owners should take care of their admins, make sure they are doing their job, and solve problems of a leader. Make changes to the roster, if someone is not doing their job correctly, have problems ask Clan Admins for help. Request any changes done to the server to Clan Admin or Supreme. Help HAC group to make decisions in their
server only. Enforce all the rules, and keep the server protected from any type of attack. May promote to any level 7 and below.
If any questions or concerns rise from a member, they can ask a Co-Leader,i f they don't know they will ask Leader, if they don't know they will ask Owner, and if they don't know the answer, they must ask Clan Admin.
This is to make sure a member does not ask a Clan Admin directly, because they are really busy.
How do I get Admin?:
There is no one answer to that question. It really is a combination of a few things. First you are active on both the
servers and forums. Secondly you have to be mature, personable, friendly, helpful, and do not abuse. You will gain admin
through your merit and character.

User Preferences and settings |
If you are a registered user, all your settings are stored in the board database. To alter them, visit your User Control Panel; a link can usually be found at the top of board pages. This system will allow you to change all your settings and preferences.
It is possible the time displayed is from a timezone different from the one you are in. If this is the case, visit your User Control Panel and change your timezone to match your particular area, e.g. London, Paris, New York, Sydney, etc. Please note that changing the timezone, like most settings, can only be done by registered users. If you are not registered, this is a good time to do so.
If you are sure you have set the timezone and Summer Time/DST correctly and the time is still incorrect, then the time stored on the server clock is incorrect. Please notify an administrator to correct the problem.
Either the administrator has not installed your language or nobody has translated this board into your language. Try asking the board administrator if they can install the language pack you need. If the language pack does not exist, feel free to create a new translation. More information can be found at the phpBB website (see link at the bottom of board pages).
There are two images that may appear below a username when viewing posts. Depending on the used style, the first may be an image associated with your rank, generally in the form of stars, blocks or dots, indicating how many posts you have made or your status on the board. The second, usually a larger image, is known as an avatar and is generally unique or personal to each user. It is up to the board administrator to enable avatars and to choose the way in which avatars can be made available. If you are unable to use avatars, contact a board administrator and ask them for their reasons.
Ranks, which appear below your username, indicate the number of posts you have made or identify certain users, e.g. moderators and administrators. In general, you cannot directly change the wording of any board ranks as they are set by the board administrator. Please do not abuse the board by posting unnecessarily just to increase your rank. Most boards will not tolerate this and the moderator or administrator will simply lower your post count.
Only registered users can send e-mail to other users via the built-in e-mail form, and only if the administrator has enabled this feature. This is to prevent malicious use of the e-mail system by anonymous users.
Posting Issues |
To post a new topic in a forum, click the relevant button on either the forum or topic screens. You may need to register before you can post a message. A list of your permissions in each forum is available at the bottom of the forum and topic screens. Example: You can post new topics, You can vote in polls, etc.
Unless you are a board administrator or moderator, you can only edit or delete your own posts. You can edit a post by clicking the edit button for the relevant post, sometimes for only a limited time after the post was made. If someone has already replied to the post, you will find a small piece of text output below the post when you return to the topic which lists the number of times you edited it along with the date and time. This will only appear if someone has made a reply; it will not appear if a moderator or administrator edited the post, though they may leave a note as to why they’ve edited the post at their own digression. Please note that normal users cannot delete a post once someone has replied.
To add a signature to a post you must first create one via your User Control Panel. Once created, you can check the Attach a signature box on the posting form to add your signature. You can also add a signature by default to all your posts by checking the appropriate radio button in your profile. If you do so, you can still prevent a signature being added to individual posts by un-checking the add signature box within the posting form.
When posting a new topic or editing the first post of a topic, click the “Poll creation” tab below the main posting form; if you cannot see this, you do not have appropriate permissions to create polls. Enter a title and at least two options in the appropriate fields, making sure each option is on a separate line in the textarea. You can also set the number of options users may select during voting under “Options per user”, a time limit in days for the poll (0 for infinite duration) and lastly the option to allow users to amend their votes.
The limit for poll options is set by the board administrator. If you feel you need to add more options to your poll then the allowed amount, contact the board administrator.
As with posts, polls can only be edited by the original poster, a moderator or an administrator. To edit a poll, click to edit the first post in the topic; this always has the poll associated with it. If no one has cast a vote, users can delete the poll or edit any poll option. However, if members have already placed votes, only moderators or administrators can edit or delete it. This prevents the poll’s options from being changed mid-way through a poll.
Some forums may be limited to certain users or groups. To view, read, post or perform another action you may need special permissions. Contact a moderator or board administrator to grant you access.
Attachment permissions are granted on a per forum, per group, or per user basis. The board administrator may not have allowed attachments to be added for the specific forum you are posting in, or perhaps only certain groups can post attachments. Contact the board administrator if you are unsure about why you are unable to add attachments.
Each board administrator has their own set of rules for their site. If you have broken a rule, you may be issued a warning. Please note that this is the board administrator’s decision, and the phpBB Group has nothing to do with the warnings on the given site. Contact the board administrator if you are unsure about why you were issued a warning.
If the board administrator has allowed it, you should see a button for reporting posts next to the post you wish to report. Clicking this will walk you through the steps necessary to report the post.
This allows you to save passages to be completed and submitted at a later date. To reload a saved passage, visit the User Control Panel.
The board administrator may have decided that posts in the forum you are posting to require review before submission. It is also possible that the administrator has placed you in a group of users whose posts require review before submission. Please contact the board administrator for further details.
By clicking the “Bump topic” link when you are viewing it, you can “bump” the topic to the top of the forum on the first page. However, if you do not see this, then topic bumping may be disabled or the time allowance between bumps has not yet been reached. It is also possible to bump the topic simply by replying to it, however, be sure to follow the board rules when doing so.
Formatting and Topic Types |
BBCode is a special implementation of HTML, offering great formatting control on particular objects in a post. The use of BBCode is granted by the administrator, but it can also be disabled on a per post basis from the posting form. BBCode itself is similar in style to HTML, but tags are enclosed in square brackets [ and ] rather than < and >. For more information on BBCode see the guide which can be accessed from the posting page.
No. It is not possible to post HTML on this board and have it rendered as HTML. Most formatting which can be carried out using HTML can be applied using BBCode instead.
Smilies, or Emoticons, are small images which can be used to express a feeling using a short code, e.g. :) denotes happy, while :( denotes sad. The full list of emoticons can be seen in the posting form. Try not to overuse smilies, however, as they can quickly render a post unreadable and a moderator may edit them out or remove the post altogether. The board administrator may also have set a limit to the number of smilies you may use within a post.
Yes, images can be shown in your posts. If the administrator has allowed attachments, you may be able to upload the image to the board. Otherwise, you must link to an image stored on a publicly accessible web server, e.g. http://www.example.com/my-picture.gif. You cannot link to pictures stored on your own PC (unless it is a publicly accessible server) nor images stored behind authentication mechanisms, e.g. hotmail or yahoo mailboxes, password protected sites, etc. To display the image use the BBCode [img] tag.

Global announcements contain important information and you should read them whenever possible. They will appear at the top of every forum and within your User Control Panel. Global announcement permissions are granted by the board administrator.
Announcements often contain important information for the forum you are currently reading and you should read them whenever possible. Announcements appear at the top of every page in the forum to which they are posted. As with global announcements, announcement permissions are granted by the board administrator.
Sticky topics within the forum appear below announcements and only on the first page. They are often quite important so you should read them whenever possible. As with announcements and global announcements, sticky topic permissions are granted by the board administrator.
Locked topics are topics where users can no longer reply and any poll it contained was automatically ended. Topics may be locked for many reasons and were set this way by either the forum moderator or board administrator. You may also be able to lock your own topics depending on the permissions you are granted by the board administrator.
Topic icons are author chosen images associated with posts to indicate their content. The ability to use topic icons depends on the permissions set by the board administrator.
User Levels and Groups |
Administrators are members assigned with the highest level of control over the entire board. These members can control all facets of board operation, including setting permissions, banning users, creating usergroups or moderators, etc., dependent upon the board founder and what permissions he or she has given the other administrators. They may also have full moderator capabilities in all forums, depending on the settings put forth by the board founder.
Moderators are individuals (or groups of individuals) who look after the forums from day to day. They have the authority to edit or delete posts and lock, unlock, move, delete and split topics in the forum they moderate. Generally, moderators are present to prevent users from going off-topic or posting abusive or offensive material.
Usergroups are groups of users that divide the community into manageable sections board administrators can work with. Each user can belong to several groups and each group can be assigned individual permissions. This provides an easy way for administrators to change permissions for many users at once, such as changing moderator permissions or granting users access to a private forum.
You can view all usergroups via the “Usergroups” link within your User Control Panel. If you would like to join one, proceed by clicking the appropriate button. Not all groups have open access, however. Some may require approval to join, some may be closed and some may even have hidden memberships. If the group is open, you can join it by clicking the appropriate button. If a group requires approval to join you may request to join by clicking the appropriate button. The user group leader will need to approve your request and may ask why you want to join the group. Please do not harass a group leader if they reject your request; they will have their reasons.
A usergroup leader is usually assigned when usergroups are initially created by a board administrator. If you are interested in creating a usergroup, your first point of contact should be an administrator; try sending a private message.
It is possible for the board administrator to assign a color to the members of a usergroup to make it easy to identify the members of this group.
If you are a member of more than one usergroup, your default is used to determine which group color and group rank should be shown for you by default. The board administrator may grant you permission to change your default usergroup via your User Control Panel.
This page provides you with a list of board staff, including board administrators and moderators and other details such as the forums they moderate.
Private Messaging |
There are three reasons for this; you are not registered and/or not logged on, the board administrator has disabled private messaging for the entire board, or the board administrator has prevented you from sending messages. Contact a board administrator for more information.
You can block a user from sending you private messages by using message rules within your User Control Panel. If you are receiving abusive private messages from a particular user, inform a board administrator; they have the power to prevent a user from sending private messages.
We are sorry to hear that. The e-mail form feature of this board includes safeguards to try and track users who send such posts, so e-mail the board administrator with a full copy of the e-mail you received. It is very important that this includes the headers that contain the details of the user that sent the e-mail. The board administrator can then take action.
Friends and Foes |
You can use these lists to organize other members of the board. Members added to your friends list will be listed within your User Control Panel for quick access to see their online status and to send them private messages. Subject to template support, posts from these users may also be highlighted. If you add a user to your foes list, any posts they make will be hidden by default.
You can add users to your list in two ways. Within each user’s profile, there is a link to add them to either your Friend or Foe list. Alternatively, from your User Control Panel, you can directly add users by entering their member name. You may also remove users from your list using the same page.

Searching the Forums |
Enter a search term in the search box located on the index, forum or topic pages. Advanced search can be accessed by clicking the “Advance Search” link which is available on all pages on the forum. How to access the search may depend on the style used.
Your search was probably too vague and included many common terms which are not indexed by phpBB3. Be more specific and use the options available within Advanced search.
Your search returned too many results for the webserver to handle. Use “Advanced search” and be more specific in the terms used and forums that are to be searched.
Visit to the “Members” page and click the “Find a member” link.
Your own posts can be retrieved either by clicking the “Search user’s posts” within the User Control Panel or via your own profile page. To search for your topics, use the Advanced search page and fill in the various options appropriately.
Topic Subscriptions and Bookmarks |
Bookmarking in phpBB3 is much like bookmarking in your web browser. You aren’t alerted when there’s an update, but you can come back to the topic later. Subscribing, however, will notify you when there is an update to the topic or forum on the board via your preferred method or methods.
To subscribe to a specific forum, click the “Subscribe forum” link upon entering the forum. To subscribe to a topic, reply to the topic with the subscribe checkbox checked or click the “Subscribe topic” link within the topic itself.
To remove your subscriptions, go to your User Control Panel and follow the links to your subscriptions.
Attachments |
Each board administrator can allow or disallow certain attachment types. If you are unsure what is allowed to be uploaded, contact the board administrator for assistance.
To find your list of attachments that you have uploaded, go to your User Control Panel and follow the links to the attachments section.

Any of the administrators listed on the “The team” page should be an appropriate point of contact for your complaints. If this still gets no response then you should contact the owner of the domain (do a whois lookup) or, if this is running on a free service (e.g. Yahoo!, free.fr, f2s.com, etc.), the management or abuse department of that service. Please note that the phpBB Group has absolutely no jurisdiction and cannot in any way be held libel over how, where or by whom this board is used. Do not contact the phpBB Group in relation to any legal (cease and desist, libel, defamatory comment, etc.) matter not directly related to the phpBB.com website or the discrete software of phpBB itself. If you do e-mail phpBB Group about any third party use of this software then you should expect a terse response or no response at all.
